If you are after a tenor ukulele with a big, big sound, the Kala KA-ATP-CTG is a great contender. It has a solid cedar top and acacia back and sides, and packs a real punch. There is a lovely gloss finish, which is super-smooth and looks great. The sound of this ukulele is full, rounded and loud and the sustain is great, with the tone gently subsiding in waves. With some ukuleles what strikes you first is the looks, on others the playability - but with the Kala KA-ATP-CTG it is the sound that grabs you by the ears and makes you pay attention!

Set into the solid cedar top is an attractive padauk wood rosette, which is matched with the binding on the top, back and with particular prettiness, on the fretboard. The KA-ATP-CTG's. The slotted headstock looks great and is beautifully finished, as well as giving better balance when playing. On that heastock, this Kala uke has great quality Grover chrome vintage style tuners.

Aquila strings are fitted as standard and these, and the nu-bone nut and saddle combine to give a really fresh tone, not without warmth, but really bold and well projected and loud and beautiful. Its certainly not what you'd say is a traditional, rounded cedar tone - but its full of life and blows your socks off. Intonation is great, action is fine, balance is nice and the overall experience is lovely.

If you want the technical spec, the scale length is 17 inches with an overal ukulele length of 27.5". The KA-ATP-CTG's body length is 11-3/4", upper bout 6-3/4", lower bout 9" and waist 5-1/4". This tenor uke has a body depth of 3-1/8" and the width at the nut is 1-1/2". If you just want a quick summary of what the Kala KA-ATP-CTG is like? A good description would be 'a fine, lively sounding uke that delivers on sound quality with nice looks and playability to back it up'.
